Large Giltwood Overmantel Mirror 19th Century

Description
This is a very large and impressive carved gilt wood and gesso overmantel mirror which dates from around 1840. The substantial mirror glass is the original bevelled 3/8" plate glass which is in good, clean condition save for an ageing mark lower right corner. The broad giltwood frame has stylised floral decoration to the top and each corner and is in lovely slightly rubbed condition. This would give a great country house look to any larger room.The overmantle mirror has grand proportions measuring 204 cms wide by 132 cms high.
