Description

This is a fabulous, most impressive large gilt & gesso mirror dating from around 1870. The substantial frame has a beautiful patina to the original gilt finish and really attractive detail to the crest with stylised central wave design flanked either side by beautiful flowers and foliage. The large central mirror is the original glass which is in remarkably clean condition with only some very minor characterful antiquating to the glass. The gilding has a beautiful patina with a slightly rubbed look in places revealing a lovely soft red beneath.
This substantial piece makes a great impact in any situation measuring 195 cms high by 125 cms wide at the extremities.
