Description

This is a very smart Tekke Turkman Ensi carpet from the which dates from the late 19th century. These were used as door coverings and this one has the characteristic quartered design and colour palette of warm reds, pinks, deep indigo and ivory. It has attractive borders and a further lattice decorated border or elim to one end. The carpet is in great condition with only very light wear to the pile. The wool is quite soft and lustrous and the colours vibrant. It is a good size measuring 165 cms by 128 cms.
