Description

This is a dramatic and very decorative gilt and gesso overmantle mirror in the Adams style. The mirror plate is an unusual shape set within a rope twist frame and is surmounted by a decorative plume with a rams head and ribbons. The corners are flanked by eagles, standing with wings spread and branches in their mouths. The plate is in good order, with the usual ageing related marks to the glass and the mirror measures 90 cms by 94 cms overall, to the maximum extremities. This is quite a rare and unusual piece with a great look.
