Description

This is a wonderful, finest quality antique Kork Kashan carpet from Central Persia which dates from the late 19th century. Kashan carpets are expertly woven with the finest of wools and the patterns created are intricate and beautiful. The 'Kork' Kashans use the very finest 'Kork' wool taken from the neck and underbelly of young lambs. This beautiful carpet has a most attractive colour palette, it has a deep indigo field with a warm terracotta stepped pole medallion and mustard spandrels, enclosed within deep indigo borders. The carpet has slightly more wear to one end than the other but it is generally in very good order considering its age. It is a good size measuring 205 cms by 129 cms.
