Description
This is a good late Victorian taxidermy of a green woodpecker (Picus viridis) circa 1890. The full mount adult male is posed clinging to a short tree stump with a cream spot butterfly and garden tiger moth sat above. This is displayed beneath a circular glass dome on mahogany base with stylish raised metal gallery that encircles the dome.The dome measures 36 cms in height with the base being 20 cms in diameter.
