Description

This is a beautiful pair of early Derby porcelain and gilt bronze candlesticks dating from around 1760. The candlesticks are in high quality hard paste porcelain and are extremely pretty with beautiful hand painted floral detail and a matching pair of lovebirds with a cute dog at the base of the tree. The decorative gilt bronze candleholders have a curling acanthus leaf form with good oak leaf detail to the candle sconce. These are a really delightful early pair in very good condition for their substantial age with only a couple of very minor losses to one or two petals and leaves as photographed.
The candlesticks are in good sound original condition overall and both have the gold Derby anchor mark to the base dating them to around 1760.

The candlesticks measure 25 cms high 19 cms wide by 10 cms deep.
