Description

This is a handsome Regency period gilt and gesso convex wall mirror with its original mirror plate and gilding in good original condition dating from the early 19th century circa 1820.

The substantial circular cushion frame is adorned with anthemion detail and an impressive crest above with urn issuing scrolls and flowers. The base has Girandole candle sconce with scrolling arms and acanthus and harebell detail and two central florets.

The convex glass mirror plate is mounted in reeded circular ebony frame and is the original glass which is in very good serviceable order bearing in mind the substantial age of this piece.

The mirror measures 105 cms in height overall and is 61 cms in diameter.
