Description

This is a fine example of hand sewn silk embroidery dating from the late19th Century. The embroidery is extremely well executed with incredible detail and was likely part of a garment belonging to a Chinese dignitary.

The embroidery depicts butterflies and flowers in fine silk threads sewn onto a silk background in a beautiful shade of blue. This is presented in an ivory mount set within a neat gilt antique frame which suits the piece well.

Including the frame this measures 72 cms by 19 cms and it is in excellent condition.
