Description

19th Century Alphabet sampler worked by Mary Ayre aged in very nice original condition and attractively framed in a neat giltwood polychrome frame. The sampler is inscribed handwritten to the reverse,

'sewed by Mary Ayre as a child of 8' 'Nurse for 50 years at Drum & Straloch, died Feb 19, buried at The Chapel of St Marys, Straloch', This measures 33 cms by 18 cms overall including the frame.
