Description

This is an impressive large Champleve cloisonné urn and cover with bronze Shi Shi knop lion finial dating from around 1920. The body has profuse wirework detail infilled with colourful glazed enamels in a very attractive design of Lotus flowers and scrolls all within Ruyi and pendant borders. This is a most skilled, worked piece with a great shape and lovely shades. The urn is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration and is raised on its original hand carved hardwood stand.
The piece is a grand item of good scale, unusual for this type of work, measuring 32 cms in height overall (27 cms off the stand) and is 22 cms in diameter.
