Large Gilt Wood Pier Mirror Regency Period

Description

This is an elegant George III Regency period pier glass of good size and in very nice original condition. The mirror dates from around 1820 and has typical projecting cornice decorated with ball mounts above a deep central shell in lattice work frieze. This is framed by recessed carved gilt wood figures above spiral twist columns. These frame the original mercury glass plate which is in nice clean condition. To the reverse the mirror is again in nice original order, with its original paper label inscribed B. L. Lecand Carver Gilder Paper Hanger.
This is an imposing size at 104 cms high by 69 cms wide by 12 deep.
