Description

This is a beautiful antique Isfahan carpet dating with a delightful colour palette dating from around 1920. The finely woven carpet is extremely well drawn and has wonderful detail to the design. It has an ivory field of colourful flowers and scrolling vines centred by a cusped warm raspberry medallion, all framed by rich indigo spandrels and borders of ice blue meadering vines flanked by lemon guard stripes. Ishfaharns are woven from the finest wools and the carpets produced are hard wearing and have great detail. In excellent condition throughout, the carpet measures 207cm by 140cm.
