Description

This is a really imposing early 19th century Italian Baroque Mirror with ornately hand carved wood frame dating from around 1820. The mirror has great detail with scrolling acanthus leaf and floral carving and a fine pineapple finial above mythical mask head. This has its original mercury plate glass with some characterful ageing and original iron work hangers and handles to the rear for ease of movement.

This is all hand carved in numbered sections fixed from the rear and it is all hand gessoed with the original painted finish.

This is a good large piece with great impact in any situation measuring 2 metres in height by 105 cms wide.
