Description

This is a beautiful antique Tekke Turkmen carpet from North West Afghanistan, dating from the late 19th century. The Tekke has a rich madder field with five columns of quartered guls enclosed by sunburst motif borders. The Tekke is also signed to one corner.
The carpet has a small repair professionally done shown in photo 4 (slightly lighter in colour) and is otherwise in excellent condition, ready for years of service. The carpet is a good size, measuring 355cm by 220cm.
