Description

This is a wonderful antique paisley shawl which dates from the late 19th century. The shawl is very large and shawls of this size were known as 'piano shawls' as they were large enough to adorn the surface of a grand piano. The shawl is in very fine woven wool and would be hand made on a loom. It has a very beautiful colour palette with warm autumnal reds, greens and pale blue dominant.
This is in super condition overall and the pretty colourful fringes are complete to both ends. It measures 320 cms by 156 cms wide overall.
