Description

This is a good English Gilt Overmantel mirror in excellent original condition dating from around 1850. The original gilding is in lovely condition with a delightful softly rubbed gilded surface to the hand carved giltwood frame. The mirror has a very elegant look, quite rare in its design with panelled marginal mirrors around the larger central mirror plate. The mirror glass is the original plate in excellent order with no blemishes. This is very handsome and decorative example. It is a practical size with nice proportions measuring 133 cms wide by 106 cms high.
