Description

This is a fabulous example of a very finely woven Mohajeran Saroukh carpet dating from around 1910. The Mohajeran carpets were woven only with the very finest of lambs wools and this shows in the quality and feel of this carpet, as well as it's silky lustrous appearance.
With a wonderful rich cerise ground colour the carpet features a fabulous central floral medallion in light blue, mid blue and indigo and this is surrounded by arching blooms and blossoms in the same shades. With serrated leaf deep indigo borders framing the carpet it is classic Saroukh design. It has a beautifully soft handle due to the fineness of wool used and is in excellent condition throughout.

An excellent large room size this measures 510 cms by 316 cms.
