Description

This is a beautiful 19th century Japanese Arita ware porcelain bowl in excellent condition dating from the Meiji period circa 1870.
The bowl is hand painted in typical Imari colour palette with stylish swimming fish to the exterior of the bowl with shellfish and seaweed above stylised waves. The interior has a floral motif surrounded by prunus borders. The bowl has hand gilded highlights to the fish and is signed by the artist with a four character mark to the base.
This is in perfect condition with no damage or restoration.

The bowl measures 24 cms in diameter and 12 cms in height.
