This is a beautiful ceramic plaque By William Mycock for Pilkingtons Royal Lancastrian. dating from around 1930. Arts and Crafts in style, the plaque has a fish leaping in waves and a seagull circling above depicted in low relief and is in lovely soft sea side shades of green and blue.This measures 26 cms in diameter and is in good original condition.
William Mycock started as a tile artist in 1894 he moved to Pilkingtons pottery department in 1906 where he remained until retirement in 1938. He was Pilkington’s longest serving artist.
