Description

This is a stunning 8 Day longcase clock by Aaron Brown of Earith, Cambridgeshire. The clock has a wonderful deep green chinoiserie case decorated with oriental panels depicting interior temple figural scenes. The case has a wonderful rich colour and beautiful gilding and is in super condition. The clock has a pagoda pediment and a 12 inch arched brass dial with a silvered moonphase, the centre with seconds, a date aperture and the maker's signature. This has a five pillar movement with an anchor escapement and strikes on a bell. The movement has been fully restored and is in nice running order keeping good time. The clock has its original decorative finials to the hood which have their beautiful original gilded finish. This comes with a winding key and has a working lock and key to the long door.
