Description

This is a fine quality antique Central Persian Ghom rug dating from the early 20th century and woven in pure silk. The rug has a very beautiful design with a coral field of floral vines around a cusped indigo pole medallion framed by spandrels. The meandering vine and samovar motif borders are a rich and lush chartreuse green, flanked by multiple guard stripes.
This fine silk rug has a very high knot count and is in excellent order save for some very light fraying to the edges, commensurate with age. It is a convenient size, measuring 186cms by 137cms.
