Description

This is a stunning Japanese Satsuma vase of large scale. The 19th century vase is of bottle form with a wide globular body and long cylindrical neck. This piece is in really excellent condition and is profusely decorated with very detailed patterns and images including Samurai warriors in battle, scholars, a young boy and a maiden, all embellished in rich burnished gilding. The vase is in excellent order with only minor rubbing to the gilding and no restoration.
This is a real statement piece because of it's scale as it stands 52 cms high.
