Description

This is a very decorative arched French gilt mirror dating from around 1870. The mirror has pretty foliate carving to the arched frame, a shell shaped crest to the top and also floral embellishment to the shoulders and sides of the mirror. The frame has a lovely patina with a warm colour to the original gilding and is softly rubbed in places revealing the red clay colour beneath. This is in super condition throughout and has its original mercury plate which is still in excellent useable condition with no marks or blemishes to the glass. It would make a fine floor standing mirror measuring 170 cms high by 111 cms wide.
