Description

This super William IV period convex mirror is a fine example in excellent original condition dating from around 1837. The mirror has its original gilt finish with a grand hand carved and ebonised eagle to the crest with original gilt balls and chain in its mouth. The convex glass is the original, in nice clean condition. It is mounted in an ebony reeded mount with deeply swept gilded round frame with beaded detail. The gilt metal candle scone are in lovely order with lions mask and floret detail. There is a fine leaf scroll plinth mounted to the base.
All in all a very elegant piece.
This is a very useful size measuring 92 cms by 55 cms overall
