Description

This is a pretty hand woven woollen Mashad carpet dating from around 1920. The carpet features a raspberry field of angular vines around a deep indigo central medallion framed by spandrels and floral borders. The colours are warm and attractive and the carpet has highlights in a sunny yellow and a light blue. This is in excellent condition with complete ends and selvedges and a nice even pile and is signed in a cartouche woven into the border by the artisan.
The carpet is a great room size measuring 373 cms by 290 cms and looks wonderful down on the floor.
