Description

This is a good example of a hand woven Kashgai carpet dating from around 1920. The well drawn carpet has some good detail and is quite finely woven for a Kashgai. The colour palette is pleasing with a warm chestnut field of stylised plants flanked by horse head motifs set against a rich indigo field, and colourful spandrels all enclosed by deep borders in a beautiful walnut shade. The carpet has the usual long tassel type fringes and is in really excellent ready to use condition with no losses or repairs and a good even pile. It is a good room size measuring 290 cms by 160 cms.
