Description
This is a wonderful antique Karabagh carpet runner dating from the South Caucasus, from around 1905. The carpet has an unusual geometric design very pleasing to the eye with large colourful stylised flowerheads in a nicely abrashed indigo field. It has colourful borders with saw tooth guard stripes.A very characterful runner with a great antique look, this has some light wear and the ends and selvedges are complete. The runner is dated (1323, Islamic calendar) and is a very useful size measuring 290 cms by 104 cms.
