Description

This is an antique hand woven rug from the Caucasus which dates from around 1920. The carpet has real star quality with an eye catching geometric zig zag design and polychrome colour palette. There are five zig zag linked lozenges to the main field and six-deep borders featuring more geometric motifs, Lesghi stars and stylised flowers. A very attractive carpet, this would look equally at home in a modern or antique setting. It is in excellent condition throughout with a soft even pile and measures 282 cms by 162 cms.
