Rams Head Antiques

Description

This is a quality solid bronze circular charger in Ecclesiastical Gothic style. The heavy charger has a large central hemispherical agate cabochon and is surrounded by a stylised etched foliate border, the rim with twelve smaller agate cabochons. These have an applied fine rope twist border with gilding, (the border to one is missing, see penultimate photo, but this is barely noticeable.) This very unusual and decorative charger dates from around 1870 and measures 33 cms in diameter.
