Description

This is a very attractive Kashan carpet with a wonderfully detailed design which dates from around 1930. The carpet has the most delightful and quite rare colour palette consisting of a pale, ice blue field with soft camel spandrels and a cusped indigo central medallion. The whole field is intricately detailed with palmettes and vines surrounded by a deep indigo border full of flowers in teal, soft pink, camel and rust colours. This is an exceptionally beautiful carpet in really nice order. It does have a little localised wear to one small area (best seen in final photo) but this does not detract at all from the look of the carpet. It is otherwise in fine condition overall and looks stunning when down.
A really fine, well crafted carpet that is signed by the artist, woven into a cartouche in the guard stripe, this would add elegance and charm to any room.
The Kashan is a very good room size measuring 353 cms 245 cms.
