Description

This is a really attractive Victorian slate mantle clock with a great shape to the gilded slate case. The good quality 8 day movement dates from 1878 and has just been fully restored and overhauled and runs beautifully, keeping good time, striking the hour on a bell every hour. The face has a visible rocking escapement to the recessed inner dial (very faint hairline to the porcelain back plate, bearly noticeable). The outer porcelain dial is in a tooled brass bezel with a Roman chapter ring and has its original hands. This is a very smart good quality clock in super order measuring 16" wide 12" in height and 6" deep.
