Description

A good pair of 19th century Shibayama plaques with great detail in circular red lacquered frames. The plaques are depictions of eagles in branches with carved wood, abalone shell, bone and mother of pearl cleverly used in the work. These are set into a black lacquered background and surrounded by the beautiful red lacquer frames which are hand painted with prunus and cherry blossom detail. These are in super condition with no losses and measure 40 cms in diameter.
