Description

This is a good 19th century long Malayir runner carpet in excellent condition dating from around 1890. The runner has a wonderfully deep and warm colour palette with an indigo ground featuring a repeat design of stylised floral motifs in madder red, a lighter blue and a golden yellow, all enclosed within deep borders of lighter blue. Hand woven in soft and hard wearing wool this is a great size measuring 510 cms long and 95 cms wide.
