Description

A good example of a Victorian 1845 pattern infantry officer's sabre. The 83cm single edge fullered steel blade crisply etched with the Royal cypher and foliage, by Cater, 56, Pall Mall, London. The brass gothic hilt with hinged guard, lined in black leather and with wire bound fishskin grip, the brass mounted leather scabbard marked Fiske, Portsmouth. Some light pitting to the blade and some wear to the grip. Otherwise in excellent order. 1 metre long overall.
