Description

This is a very charming Khamseh carpet from South West Persia which dates from the late 19th century. The carpet has a pleasing hexagonal stepped lattice design with stylised chicken motif and a warm and vibrant colour palette, subdued a little due to its age. This is in good order with a low and even pile, the selvedges are complete and the ends have been made good, once having had tassels. The carpet measures 188 cms by 150 cms and would add colour and character to a room.
