Description

This is a very smart Victorian mantel clock in black slate and green veined marble which dates from around 1860. The clock has an attractive enamelled dial with roman numerals and a French 8 day movement stamped 'Oppenheim Paris' which strikes a lovely tone on the hour and half hour on a bell. This is in excellent condition having been recently overhauled by our horologist and keeps good time. The movement is also stamped with the 'medaille d'argent' medal. The pendulum is the original and is stamped with a number that corresponds to the movement. This also comes with its original key. The case is in lovely clean condition and the green veined marble has a lovely colour. The clock measures 31.5 cms long, 25 cms high and 14 cms deep.
