Description

This is a library telescope by Dollond of London which dates from around 1790. The table top telescope is leather covered and has a single draw tube and rack and pinion fine adjustment tube operated by a thumb wheel to the side of the main barrel. It has screw brass stays and its original lens cover and sliding eyepiece. The leather is intact and has a beautiful patina, the optics are in good working order.The telescope is supported on a brass padfoot tripod stand.
Rare to find in such good condition, the telescope extends to 145 cms in length overall, the stand is 60 cms in height and has a circumference of 38 cms to the pad feet.
