Description

This is an extemely fine antique Kashan carpet from Central Iran which dates from around 1900, with the most glorious colour palette and floral design. The finely woven carpet has a warm cream field filled with colourful palmettes and intricately meandering serrated leafy vines, set within similar borders.
This is a carpet of quality with a very high knot count and quite exceptional design indeed its maker has signed it to the border. There is an area of light wear to the middle of the carpet and a small repair which is secure. It is a useful size measurring 193 cms by 134 cms.
