Description

This is a beautiful example of a fine Persian capet which dates from the early 20th century and is exceptionally pleasing to the eye. The warm cream field has an intricate and finely woven design of trailing, meandering vines and flowers with wide palmette borders. The assymetric design is loose and fluid and very much in the Arts and Crafts style seen in Sultanabad carpets, with colours which are subtle and very easy to live with, including a warm red, duck egg blue and a soft pale pistachio green.

The carpet is in good clean order and the pile is even throughout.
This is a quality carpet with a fine and very soft wool and it is signed by the artist to the border at one end.
It is a great room size measuring 360 cms by 274 cms and would add real style to any room.
