Description

This is a good antique hand woven Kashgai carpet which dates from around 1890. It has attractive muted colours and is woven in lovely soft wool. The indigo field has a design with seven diamond lozenges and and is otherwise filled with stellar motifs. These are surrounded by geometric designs including chickens in many attractive colours. Kashgais are both soft and durable which makes for a very practical carpet in the home. The carpet has even overall wear and a a couple of old repairs that are sound and quite stable. This is a really characterful Kashgai with a lovely antique colour palate and much charm.
The carpet is a great room size measuring 220 cms by 170 cms.
