Description

This is a lovely Regency Moroccan Leather Work box. On the interior is a charming scene of a lady dressed in classical clothing handing a love letter to a dog who is to take it to her loved one. The interior is fit with sections for sewing paraphernalia and there is a bottom drawer to hold larger items. The work box was made by a renown maker of boxes, R. Was, to the prince regent before he became king. The box stands on 4 gilt feet and has gilt drop ring handles on the sides. It is a lovely box in good condition.
