Puma and Bear, London

Description

This is a superb quality late 18thC mahogany octagonal cellarette. It has a lift up lid enclosing bottle divisions and a unique Victorian cut crystal whiskey glass and tot insert. The insert is made of mahogany as well and is covered in green velvet with a brass handle positioned in the centre that enables it to be lifted out easily. Underneath the insert are bottle divisions, also lined in the same green velvet. Condition of the insert and velvet lining in the interior is excellent. Glasses are all intact, with no chips.

The piece has original brasswear handles, a working lock and key. It is raised on its original stand to which it has been glued. Lastly, the cellarette stand has elegant square, tapering legs the resolve into original brass castors.
