A late Victorian expanding bookslide or bookends, perfect for the Equestrian devotee with the horseshoe shaped ends each decorated with a horseshoe and horse's head.The aperture for the books expands from 12" to 19 1/4" when fully opened. Dating to around 1890, they remain in excellent condition. The footprint measures 13 1/2" x 6".
