Antique English Novelty Match Striker c.1880

A wonderful and most unusual novelty match strike made from cast brass and just back from a professional clean and polish by our silversmith.The non-safety matches (the ones shown for photographic purposes only) would sit int he coopered bucket or pail these would then me struck against the wheel's textured surface by turning the handle.
English in origin and dating to c.1880 in excellent condition measuring 5 1/4" x 2 5/8" x 4 1/4" tall.
