Description

Dating to around 1880, this English Victorian book rest is smaller than many, perfect for that special book, perhaps a prayer book or smaller bible. It would also look perfect in the kitchen for recipe cards or again a smaller cookery book.

There are two semi-circular supports at the front which is where the book would sit and the pages held back with the black cord with solid brass ball weights.

The book-rest stands on a folding easel stand and is tightened with the use of the knob on the right hand side to adjust it's angle. The front panel has an all-over pierced or reticulated decoration.

Beautifully polished to gleam and in excellent condition The front measures 9 1/4" x 7" tall.
