With the Plia chair, designer Giancarlo Piretti revolutionised the concept of a folding chair and his study on the "3-disk pivot" is considered a stroke of genius. The combination of a steel and polypropylene frame has paved the way for a chair that has become a cult object. The chairs have areas of rust, this is reflected in the price.
