Description

Late 17th century oak Chest of Drawers on bun feet. Continuing the 17th century tradition, it is panelled and pegged. The 4 long geometric panelled drawers are beautifully balanced, designed to please the eye. A good 2-plank top sits over a moulded edge. The top 3 escutcheons are original, the 4th is also of the period and has been on the chest for centuries. The drop handles are fine replacements, cast from originals of the period. The feet are also very good later replacements. Lovely proportions and surface, with a deep golden
colour, makes this a most attractive antique oak chest of drawers. Circa 1690.
