Description

A good 19th century high back broad arm Windsor chair. Typical of chairs made in Yorkshire, this model is one of the largest of the Windsors, often known as "smokers". It is substantially made, mostly of elm, with a central shaped back splat, well turned spindles uniting the arms to the seat, and 2 cross stretchers below. A handsome and comfortable chair. Circa 1880.
