Description

A fine quality late 18th century Mahogany Commode, superbly converted from its original function. The flame mahogany front, decorated with fine lines of stringing, lent itself perfectly to the 2 door cupboard and single drawer that makes this a handsome and useful piece of furniture. A shaped gallery at the top and splayed feet are stylish features of the late Georgian period. The top surface has some marking having spent some time as a bedside cabinet, and a repaired/stabilized fracture in the middle of the single piece top. Circa 1800.
